Bistec Empanizado (Breaded Steak)

6 ounce                Ball tip (sirloin steak)
                           Salt
                           Pepper
1 tablespoon         Old Havana Foods Mojo Marinade
1 tablespoon         Extra virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon         Flour
1                         Egg, beaten with 1 teaspoon water (enough egg for 3 steaks)
¼ cup                  Panko breadcrumbs
½ cup                  Peanut oil
                          Lime wedges

  1. Season steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Combine Old Havana Foods Mojo Marinade and olive oil. Spread over both sides of steak and allow to marinate at least 1 hour.
  3. Prepare 3 dishes for breading - 1 for flour, 1 for egg and 1 for breadcrumbs.
  4. Coat steak in flour, shaking to remove excess. Dip into egg wash on both sides, allow excess to drip off. Coat with breadcrumbs on both sides pushing crumbs into egg mixture to adhere to steak. Allow to sit in refrigerator at least 1 hour before frying to set breading.
  5. Heat oil to 350˚F in skillet. Pan-fry steak approximately 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve warm with lime wedges.

Make 1 - 6 ounce steak.
